A former paper mill, a historic building, preserved brick walls or a wood-panelled facade… Sessùn stores are unique, and each has a different tale to tell. Respecting the strengths and characteristics of the towns and cities in which they are located, each store blends seamlessly into the local cultural heritage.
Conceived by renowned architects and crafted by skilled artisans, these magnificent architectural masterpieces are designed to be welcoming spaces. From Paris to Barcelona, Berlin, London, Palma de Mallorca, Brussels and Madrid, our stores are an accurate reflection of Sessùn’s image: a solar radiance, a passion for arts & crafts, a warm, contemporary atmosphere. They are the perfect setting for our collections of ready-to-wear, along with choice objets d’art and craft items, workshops and a selection of fine books.
Materials, colors, collections, objects, craft items… Our stores are designed to share all the things we love. That is why we ask skilled cabinet-makers and master craftsmen, including the last remaining basket makers in France, all of whom are artisans with incomparable know-how, to decorate and furnish our stores with their elegantly crafted works.
The Atelier Jean-Brieuc in Angers and the basketry cooperative of Villaines created the “cocoon” in wood and rattan in the Rue de Charonne store in Paris, amongst other items. The glass blowers from the International Glass Art Centre in Meisenthal and the researcher Lucile Viaud created the glass bead pendant lighting in Rennes and Strasbourg. The sail rope in our Saints-Pères store, made by the longstanding rope maker Lancelin, is an open invitation to travel. To mention but a few examples.
Paired with weave lamps, textile artwork and other oeuvres fashioned by hand at Sessùn or by artists very dear to us, the creations are a perfect way for Sessùn to pay homage to the artists behind them, to ensure their invaluable craftsmanship endures and can be seen and appreciated.
Cut, sculpted, sanded, assembled... Its different essences, its infinite nuances, its organic lines which tell all its history and its durability.
As if emerging from a quarry, the stone evokes in a whisper the timeless weightlessness of Mediterranean archaeological sites.
A nest, a setting, a reassuring, intimate place, all rounded and close… A place symbolizing both a return to oneself and an openness to the world.
Its mottled color, close to ecru, plays with deliberate evocations of natural materials: hemp, twine, linen...
