about us
doing it our way

Sessùn took its first steps along its path more than 20 years ago on the other side of the world. A bit of a crazy project, into the oncoming wind, which was marked by meetings, discoveries and sudden passions.

We’ve been following the same path ever since, with only one compass to guide us: our love of materials, crafts, expertise and beautiful things. A little-travelled path, no doubt, but one that we remain loyal to and that we continue to follow with just as much determination and enthusiasm as ever; a challenging path too, but one that we take in our stride and put heart and soul into.

But today, we, along with everybody else, find ourselves asking an essential question: What direction should we take in terms of the challenges facing our societies and our planet? Which route should we take? One thing is for sure: there is no path that is completely free of obstacles, no route that is completely mapped out.

This means that the path we are determined to take is a difficult one, and progress will never be quite as fast as we would like it to be. The subject is too important to fix unrealistic objectives or to make you promises that we won’t be able to keep. What is vital is to never stop asking ourselves how we can do better.

Innovation will be our guide along the way.

And however difficult this path may be, it is also the most noble, the most human and the most rewarding way. After all, if we love challenging paths at Sessùn, it’s partly because once we get to our destination, it feels so great to be able to say “we did it!”

So here are our commitments:

#1 A new look at materials

Since the creation of the brand, the choice of materials has always been really important to us, their quality, their appearance, their richness, their unique nature, and also their composition.

#2 Create unique craft-inspired stores

Sessùn was originally born of a passion for Latino-American crafts. Over the years, craftwork has inspired not only the brand’s collections, but also the layout and decoration of its stores.

#3 Preserve the textile know-how

As she has travelled, Emma François has become increasingly aware that textile-based skill and know-how is disappearing in some countries. However, these skills are a reflection of the wealth and incredible diversity of knowledge, that needs to be preserved.

#4 Foster a more responsible fashion

We have our own convictions and commitments in terms of materials, craftwork and textile-based skills, but we also have to contribute to improving the social and environmental manufacturing conditions in the fashion industry.

They are the route we will take for now. An unusual route, for sure, but the one we choose because it is the one that reflects who we are.
